Qigong for Your Heart and Spirit, a multi-session class
Series Dates: July 18 and 25, August 1 and 8
August 15 and 22 optional practice sessions
Qigong (chee gung)--qi (vital energy) + gong (exercises) = cultivating vital energy through dedicated practice.
In addition to being enjoyable to practice, qigong has several benefits, including improved range of motion, balance and muscle tone; stress reduction, mood-elevating, more complete breathing.
You are invited to learn and practice four exercises and two meditations that aid in being in sync with the season and encourage development of the energetic anatomy, particularly the body's primary energy channel and the Heart. Continue to practice at home with the assistance of a detailed handout. Adjust your personal practice as your schedule permits.
This class is appropriate for most people--young and young at heart, fit and not so fit. The exercises can be adjusted for a variety of abilities and they're a perfect complement to other self-care practices.
Eat lightly before class. Dress for movement and stillness. Weather and temperature permitting, we may be outside part of the time. Bring water and a writing utensil.
A series of four Friday morning sessions with two additional sessions available. Sessions are 8:30 to 10:00 Friday July 18th, 25th, August 1 and 8th; $49. Additional sessions for polishing are August 15 and 22; $10/session.
Since the 1980's, Kirk Norby has learned and practiced many different qigong exercises, meditations and self-massage sequences. He's become increasingly aware of the multi-layered benefits of these practices and enjoys sharing them so other people can realize the benefits, too.
